Tasted more like a cornbeef then brisket
I’ve bought other meats and they were great. Got 3-3# briskets and have cooked them two different ways, neither were as I hoped for. In the oven for 6 hrs and it was still tough. Not much fat on it at all-which gives the meat flavor. The second I. The crockpot for over 8 hrs, better than the first but not what I expected. Afraid to try the third
I order 4 of these in the past 2024. I smoked all 4. I ended up putting 3 of the in my instant pot, they were so tough. so we could eat them. Was able to eat by smoking. It was the only one that looked like a brisket. Afraid to order again.
This is either my 5th or 6th brisket and have not been disappointed yet. I have never and will never cook my brisket in an oven. They go in my smoker with a mixture of hickory and oak and are smoked at 225 degrees for 7-8 hours. Always delicious.
This brisket is a family favorite. Pat rub with lots of salt all over the meat, wrap in foil and cook at 300 degrees for 5 hours, one hour with oven off, and then 5 minutes under the broiler. Just incredible. We live in a Texas high quality bbq restaurant area and my wife says “not smoky but just as good as any restaurant.”
